(The article I am writing is as per my practical knowledge and understanding of the religious terms as guided by my spiritual gurus)
नियति भेद नहीं करती जो लेती है वो देती है!

in my journey of life, I have never seen any relatives or friends of the deceased listening to the "Garuda Puraan" path by pandit ji. Only a member whose responsibility is to take care of pandit ji will be sitting and listening to pandit ji. Pandit ji will explain if someone asks any question, otherwise he will recite the path as it is as no one is sitting around who is eager to know the importance of Garuda Puraan. Sometimes people come to just bow down while recitation and console the grieved family members, but I have never seen anyone asking any question to pandit ji regarding this. it is thought to be a ritual like other rituals which are to be done at this particular time. One thing which I noticed is that people are afraid of it as lot of rumours are there in air regarding Garud Puraan that it is recited only after the death of someone, so no one gives an ear to it, as everyone is afraid something unnatural can happen in their family.
I used to think that if no one is listening them then why we call pandit ji for it, it made me think there should be something beyond that. I will mention here that when my mom in law passed away, I requested pandit ji to read the full path for me, I want to listen to it and understand it. So, when I listened to the full path, I came to know what is written in it and why it is recited. It is full of knowledge and some chapters are from the Ayurveda which are detailed knowledge of three Dosha Vata Pitta Kapha. (Tristambh of Ayurveda)
Then, I could understand that this is not the end of a journey of life , but it is a guide to give path to a new life. As nothing can be repaired while going to past, but we can transform our future if we purify our mind and soul.
This article of mine is an effort to make our new generation understand the meanings of some terms which are written in our Veda, Upanishda and Puraans. As IQ levels of ancient sages were so high that they would not even utter a word but transfer their thoughts and ideas by just holding hands of the other person or by keeping a hand on their head. It would transfer all knowledge to the other person. It is the same way we transfer data from phone to phone.
Movie Pk illustrated this
transfer very well and The Avatar movie is a latest example to make it understand ( they will tie the braids and connect each other for transformation of energy, now young generation is ashamed of tying shikha, although in sikhism people are tying hair on crown chakra and covering it from to protect from negative energies) .
Our pulse diagnosis also works on same phenomenon reading working of your mind
and body. Down the line lot of scriptures were burnt or torn. There had been
lot of changes in scriptures as every person decoded Sanskrit as per his
knowledge and understanding. Our sacred books teach us a lot about life and how
to live without hurting someone.
Not everything is physical
or geographical in this world. For example there are no geographical institutes
like a hell or heaven on this earth, it is the state of a mind or a state of
surroundings or a place where you are living. People living below poverty line
are forced to live a life like hell. There are brothels, jails and places where
human slaves are forced to live; we have seen so many examples in movies or
even listen to so many stories from our ancestors. Imagine a place where one
has to live: eat, sleep and defecate at the same place. Some places in the
jails are an example of that hell, I had listen to the story of actor Sanjay
Dutt, when he was in jail, he had to live in a black room with no light measuring
just 6ft x 6ft and he had experienced what I have stated above. We can think
and collect in memory so many places around us which are a hell.
A person who is depressed a
lot, staying in a very untidy home is a perfect example of hell. We often see
patients who do not want to bathe, wash clothes, clean home, and switch on
lights. Years and years passed, they had a white wash in their homes. Reptiles
and fungi start growing in their home; these are the perfect examples of people
living in hell. They are surrounded by so much of negative energies that they
start to live in their own world, we will talk about them in detail later on.
Here I would like to add,
that I am not a judge here but from my study on mental status of these people,
their relation with certain planets and the energy of the place they are living
in, I take this opportunity to add that this is mostly the result of their
unfulfilled and subsided Vasans (desires) which do not let them come out of
this hell. Even when we try to help them they deny the help and act adversely.
Literally
HELL is believed to be a place where the
Devil lives and where bad people go to when they die or some people even live
there when alive. It can be situation or place that is very unpleasant or
painful as described above.

live and where nice people go to when they die or some people even live there when alive.it is a place or a situation in
which one stays happ.

Sometimes a person is always
happy with whatever he has been provided. He is happy without any reason. His
surroundings are clean, serene with lot of flowers around. He has reached a
stage of fulfilment of desires, which is again a state of mind.
INITIATION OF HUMAN BEING
The initiation of a human
being as presented in Garuda Purana
revolves around Vishnu and Lakshmi and it is same like other Puranaas, Garuda
Puraana weaves the Samkhya theory of two realities — the Purusha (spirit) and
Prakriti (matter), the masculine and feminine—presented as interdependent, each
playing a different but essential role to create the observed universe. Goddess
Lakshmi is the creative power of Prakriti, the cosmic seed and the source of
creation. God Vishnu is the substance of Purusha, the soul and the
constant. The masculine and the feminine
are presented by the Garuda Purana as inseparable aspects of the same divine,
metaphysical truth Brahman.
Vishnu is the unchanging reality called Brahman, while Lakshmi is the changing reality called Maya or matter or the changing forms. The goddess is the material cause of the universe and the god acts to begin the process. That is the reason mothers and fathers are called Gods and we always guide children to respect and worship them before anyone else. Our living body is a microcosm of the universe, governed by the same laws and made out of the same substances. All the gods are inside the human body; what is outside the body is present within it as well. Body and cosmos are equated in this theme.

Male is always the giver and female the receiver and gives rise to progeny. Vishnu is the Brahman or soul or I call it as a SIM ( Subscriber Identity/Identification Module: a removable card inside a cell phone that stores data unique to the user, as an identification number, passwords, phone numbers and messages for him only) which retains every fundamental properties of a person: the basic karma and default settings of a particular yoni) in it. We can change the outer models of cell phones but need the same SIM in every cell phone, same ways the brahman or the base remains the same and we take different forms from the matters where we are born while passing from that area.
84 L𝐚𝐤𝐡 𝐘𝐨𝐧𝐢
According to the scriptures
in Sanatan Dharma, a soul gets human birth only after wandering in 8,400,000
births. According to the scriptures out of 84 Lakh Yoni, the human form has
been described as the best because there is a system of rebirth according to
deeds. A person who does good deeds gets a human life, but there are many
creatures that get a human body only after wandering in 84 Lakh Yoni births.
It is known to all that the
part of the mother from which the child is born is called the vagina (yoni).
Similarly, there are many types of sub-types in animals, birds, insects,
snakes, humans, etc. and it is not necessary that there should be only 84 lakh
species because over time many creatures are extinct and many new creatures are
also born.
According to Modern Science about 1 crore 4 lakh species have been told in the journey from amoeba to human. But in Ancient times, sages and sages had come to know without any technology that there are about 84 lakh species.
One can take birth in any yoni according to his vasanas. As long as that SIM with Karmic memory is there, it will contain life inside. We take birth perform all karma in the universe. As we know only the human are the most evolved so only we can help the others suspended SIMS (atmas) relieved.
The life is contained in
that SIM, it is up to you how much you capture, how much you achieve, how significant
you become, it is not with comparison with anyone else, but with yourself only,
that is what is seen after closing the eyes, as you are detached from the surroundings
and world.
Then Next is, Are you
satisfied with what you have achieved, have you achieved your goal, have you
captured all intense possibilities of life or you have missed something. Every new thing experienced and learned will
be added to your SIM or we can say stored in the software unknowingly and
unconsciously. But mind one thing, it has a limited space, so whatever is most
important for me will remain there. All the Information is there in discerning mind,
when you have a discerning mind, you respond to opportunities and challenges in
alignment with the best version of yourself. Discernment is an inner feedback
loop that helps you interpret your inner and outer worlds and confidently
choose a path forward.
So, when a human dies, he or she has to leave this physical body here only, as this is the matter or material we picked up from here only. When we die the discerning and discriminating mind also leave the body. Now that SIM cannot go where ever it desires to go, as no mind is there, now it will move by the tendencies it has, it is beautifully described in yogic culture as vasana. Vasna is a desire which did not get fulfilled, it keep on getting saved in that SIM unconsciously and getting piled up. We can say now it moves with the directions from the tendencies, they can be negative or positive.
What we keep on saving,
they are more superficial than the previously added things. It attains things
towards itself as how vibrant the karma are. That is why so much emphasis is
given on focusing on meditating and chanting of mantra when we see a person is
aging and all the energies are getting consumed up. So if any wish is left and
mind is in unpleasant state while prana are leaving the body, it gets
multiplied by many folds as discerning mind is not there now. As all energies
are consumed it will try to take physical form as soon as possible.
The vasanas depend on the
mode we were in at the time of leaving body, if pleasant, they will be increased
manifold, if sorrow or in pain then also it increases to many fold. So whatever we
have at the time of death that determines our next move. If pleasant we will be
in heaven and with unpleasant mode we will move to hell.
There are three types of movements in Vaitarni depending upon, we can say karma:(Vatarni is saviour,it is not a river physically, it is metaphorial), it is place in the universe above earth and down the earth. No one seen these loka with eyes, but they are felt and experienced as stated above.

A After leaving body some have to bounce back as they have stronger tendencies to takebirth, the tendencies can be negative or positive.
Some have URDHAV GATI (upwards, rising high in energies we can say), that we can call as enlightenment, heaven energy. Some get soak or dissolved in it in it which we call as the moksha.

ADHO
GATI (down wards movement) some gets stranded or are stuck in
the energy. They are the bodies which had times left yet to consume the
energies they had, but they were murdered, accident happened or they committed
suicide. So they now have to wait till there energy become feeble and diminish
only then they can attain a new body.
The GARUDA PURAAN is a guide for the person who has tendencies for the rebirth;
all the precautions are given to take care while taking rebirth. So it is a guidance
for the atman to be reborn, it guides how to clean the karma.
How one problem will lead
to another so you need to be careful. We can say it is a lesson which is taught
before you enter to other birth, it is like a new examination you are going to
appear. So A guide is giving instructions that if you take care of certain
things, you can stay happy and healthy. As most of the chapters are about the
karma done and its consequences, as if a person does this wrong job, he will be
punished in turn.
So, it is all about deleting your negative tendencies and do go deeds, what is left in this birth can be completed in the next birth and when your all negative deeds are finished and your SIM gets cleaned and becomes natural again(naisargik) .you can be soaked or dispersed in the vaitarni which is a state of salvation(moksha) and if desired pass to the Urdhav gati(heaven). All the pujas that are done are prayers for the universe to help the identity to get good garbha and be helpful.
If someone who has not used
the full energies e.g. in case of murder, accident or any other method there also
we does puja so that their weights of tendencies get lighter and lighter and
they get a physical form again and get rebirth again.
The prayers are for everyone who need our help from getting free from their shells and they can find the new parents according to their new strategies. A human body come from the union of two cells one from mother and father, everything gets transfers mostly as data, but the new identity also start to work on that and adds some further information according to his will or designs or vasana .
So, Garuda puraan is a
guide that now is the time you choose wisely the next parents which will help
you to clean your karma. So, The Garuḍa puraṇa describes what happens to a
person after he dies, how he goes to paradise or hell depending on his deeds,
what is in heaven and hell, and how long the soul lives there until it's
reincarnated into a new body.
